Basic sentence structure

Build complete sentences with a subject and a verb.

The rules

1.A complete English sentence needs a subject and a verb: "She works." "It is late."
2.The normal order is Subject + Verb + Object: "I like coffee." Not "I coffee like."
3.English needs a subject even when it is empty: "It is raining." "There is a problem."
4.Start with a capital letter and end with a period, question mark, or exclamation mark.

Incorrect: ~~Is very important.~~

Correct: It is very important.

Add the subject "it".

Incorrect: ~~Works in a bank.~~

Correct: She works in a bank.

A sentence needs a subject.

Incorrect: ~~I coffee drink every morning.~~

Correct: I drink coffee every morning.

Subject, verb, object.

Watch out: If your sentence starts with a verb, you may have dropped the subject.
