Comparatives and superlatives

Compare two things or pick the best of many.

The rules

1.Short adjectives add -er/-est: fast → faster → fastest. Long adjectives use more/most: more important → most important.
2.Never use more with -er: not "more better", not "more easier".
3.Irregular: good → better → best, bad → worse → worst, far → farther/further.
4.Use than to compare two things, and the before a superlative: "This is faster than that." "This is the fastest."

Incorrect: ~~This method is more easier.~~

Correct: This method is easier.

Do not combine more and -er.

Incorrect: ~~She is more taller than me.~~

Correct: She is taller than me.

One comparison marker only.

Incorrect: ~~It is the most best option.~~

Correct: It is the best option.

"Best" is already superlative.

Watch out: Use "as ... as" for equal comparisons: "as fast as".

2. She is the ___ person in the team.

3. This task is ___ important than that one.
