Capital letters and basic punctuation

Capitalise and punctuate correctly.

The rules

1.Capitalise the first word of a sentence, the pronoun I, names, days, months, languages, and nationalities: I, Monday, English, Indian. Do not capitalise seasons.
2.End statements with a period, questions with a question mark, and strong feelings with an exclamation mark (sparingly).
3.Use a colon before a list or explanation, and a semicolon to join two closely related sentences.
4.Put punctuation inside quotation marks in American English: "Hello," she said.

Incorrect: ~~i speak english and hindi.~~

Correct: I speak English and Hindi.

Capitalise I and languages.

Incorrect: ~~We meet on monday in july.~~

Correct: We meet on Monday in July.

Days and months are capitalised.

Incorrect: ~~Are you coming.~~

Correct: Are you coming?

Questions end with ?.

Watch out: Days, months, languages, and nationalities are capitalised in English; seasons are not.
